Collection Requirements

Source: anus
Container: clear scotch tape prep or pinworm collection paddle

• Obtain first thing in the morning before the patient has bathed or used the bathroom
• Press the adhesive side of the scotch tape or pinworm paddle firmly against the anus, flattening the perianal skin folds
• If using clear scotch tape (not frosted), affix the tape to a glass slide and label with the patient’s name; transport in a slide holder
