- Use a Sodium heparin tube if the specimen may clot (EDTA is unacceptable for cultures)
Source: tissue
Container: sterile cup
- Submit immediately; Microbiology must process within 30 minutes of collection

For skin, hair or nails refer to dermatophyte culture
