Acceptable IV catheters for semi-quantitative culture:
- central line
- CVP
- Hickman, Broviac
- arterial
- umbilical
- hyperalimentation
- Swan-Ganz
Container: sterile cup
Aseptically clip off a 2-inch distal segment of the catheter
directly into sterile cup
