Additional Information
Internal tandem duplication (ITD) mutations arise from duplications of the juxtamembrane portion of the FLT3 gene and result in constitutive activation of the protein. This alteration has been identified in approximately 20% to 30% of patients with acute myeloid leukemia and is associated with a worse prognosis.
