Collection Restrictions

Processing of frozen sections requires appropriate staff be readily available

Can only be collected at Adele Hall

Source: fresh tissue
Container: Sterile cup; no fixative

Complex specimens should be clearly oriented and identified regarding the location of surgial margins and other significant anatomic structures.

Delivery to Histology (Room 2205.12) immediately following collection

20 minutes

The attending pathologist will contact the submitting surgeon by telephone
