Collection Restrictions

Collection can only be done:

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday
    • Adele Hall: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • All other locations:  6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon)
  • Never on weekends or holidays

Collection Requirements

Adele Hall: Collections are done in the Outpatient Lab or by placing a Consult for Phlebotomy
Satellites: Collections are done in the Outpatient Lab

Special Instructions

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend screening at-risk children as young as 2 years old for Latent TB infection with IGRA (interferon gamma release assays).

The new standards were published on June1, 2018 in the Red Book: 2018 report of the Committee on Infectious Disease.

Tubes require a 16-24 hour incubation at 37°C to ensure correct processing
All tubes MUST be placed in the Immunology incubator
