Collection Restrictions
Collection can only be done:
- Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Friday
- Adele Hall: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- All other locations: 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon)
- Never on weekends or holidays
Collection Requirements
Adele Hall: Collections are done in the Outpatient Lab or by placing a Consult for Phlebotomy
Satellites (Broadway, East, Northland, Kansas): Collections are done in the Outpatient Lab
Special Instructions
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend screening all childen at risk for Latent TB infection. IGRA (interferon gamma release assays) do not have age restrictions.
The latest standards were published April 2024 in the Red Book: 2024-2027 Report of the Committee on Infectious Diseases (33rd Ed).

Specimen: whole blood

Tubes require a 16-24 hour incubation at 37°C to ensure correct processing
All tubes MUST be placed in the Immunology incubator
